Transport Driver – Clinical Waste & Stores

About the role

The Transport Department of NHS Grampian is seeking a reliable Transport Driver to handle the daily collection and delivery of stores, laundry, and clinical waste across multiple sites. This role involves operating a vehicle safely, performing manual handling tasks, and ensuring all paperwork and vehicle checks are completed to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and deliver stores, laundry, and clinical waste from designated collection points.
• Load and unload cages, waste bags, and containers safely each day.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform daily checks, and complete required documentation.
• Stock the vehicle for daily runs and ensure timely drop‑off and pick‑up at appropriate locations.
• Adhere to health and safety standards, including manual handling procedures.

Required profile

• Full driving licence for Category C1 (Category C desirable).
• No DR10 endorsement.
• Ability to work unsupervised and follow high‑standard procedures.
• Punctual, reliable, well‑presented with good face‑to‑face communication.
• Experience in driving and manual handling preferred.

Required skills

• Category C1 driving licence.
• Manual handling capability.
