Trainee Store Manager – Retail Operations

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a motivated Trainee Manager for its Witbank store. You will learn the full spectrum of store operations under the guidance of an experienced store manager, gaining hands‑on experience in retail management, inventory control, and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inventory processes, including goods in transit, cycle counts, stock takes, and shrinkage reduction.
• Ensure efficient stock flow to the sales floor and support ordering to maintain optimal levels of FMCG, health and beauty products.
• Assist with promotional displays, labeling, pricing, and layout standards.
• Handle goods receiving, transaction integrity for receipts and returns, and daily Z‑Move pack reconciliation.
• Support achievement of store sales targets and coordinate promotional activities with department heads.
• Monitor market trends, propose strategies to increase market share, and contribute to regional retail plans.
• Assist with point‑of‑sale operations, daily cash‑ups, and expense monitoring.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric qualification.
• 1–2 years experience in retail store management (stock, cash, reporting, expense control, customer service).
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
• Willingness to work retail hours, valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Advantageous: Diploma in Financial/Admin or a related 3‑year diploma.
