Trainee Field Technician

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Field Technician to join a fast‑growing team that delivers advanced surveying, positioning and technology solutions to the mining, construction and infrastructure sectors. This entry‑level position offers structured training and hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge field equipment while working alongside seasoned technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the installation and setup of field equipment such as GNSS/GPS receivers, total stations, laser scanners and drones.
• Support senior technicians in routine maintenance, repairs and calibration of surveying instruments.
• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues on‑site.
• Participate in client visits to construction sites, mines and other field locations.
• Help with equipment testing, preparation and basic user support under supervision.
• Maintain tools, equipment and accurate service records.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of electronics or engineering principles.
• Familiarity with surveying or mapping equipment is an advantage.
• Strong interest in technology and field‑based work.
• Willingness to learn technical systems quickly and work in a team environment.

Required skills
