Technician – Cash Processing Equipment Maintenance

About the role

The Technician will be responsible for hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting and optimisation of cash processing equipment such as banknote and coin counters and sorters. The role ensures maximum uptime, operational efficiency and compliance with business continuity standards at the Bloemfontein site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs and routine maintenance on SBV machinery following OEM schedules.
• Execute preventative maintenance plans and respond to equipment failures.
• Conduct fault diagnosis, incident resolution and daily equipment inspections.
• Analyse machine sensors to maintain stable, reliable performance.
• Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts to minimise downtime.
• Compile and submit daily and monthly performance reports, including uptime, downtime and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and support ESG reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of on‑site technician experience with automated, electro‑mechanical or industrial equipment.
• Experience in a cash‑processing, banking, manufacturing or security‑controlled environment is advantageous.
• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Millwright, Electrician, Fitter & Turner) or a National Diploma/NQF Level 5 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering.
• Technical certifications or OEM training on automated equipment are a plus.
