Technical Operator

About the role

Indigo Brands is seeking a Technical Operator to join its production team in Epping, Cape Town. The role involves leading operators on the manufacturing line, coordinating daily operational activities and ensuring that production, quality and safety targets are consistently achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the production line team, ensuring correct changeovers and calibration of machinery according to SOPs.
• Record optimal machine settings, update machine files and perform troubleshooting to maintain product quality and output.
• Develop and execute autonomous maintenance schedules, including cleaning, greasing and lubricating equipment.
• Plan preventive maintenance with the production scheduler and manage short‑term production planning on Shopware.
• Ensure sufficient resources are available for daily workloads and monitor production targets.
• Identify bottlenecks, work with cross‑functional teams to resolve them and uphold quality‑at‑source and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Experience in a technical or production environment within manufacturing.
• Ability to lead a team and coordinate daily operational tasks.
• Strong understanding of SOPs, maintenance procedures and quality standards.
• Problem‑solving mindset with attention to safety and hygiene requirements.
