Team Leader – Wash Bay Operations

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of our truck wash bay. You will ensure that all vehicles are cleaned efficiently, safely, and to company standards while maintaining productivity and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise wash bay staff during each shift.
• Allocate daily tasks, monitor workflow, and ensure turnaround times meet targets.
• Conduct quality checks before vehicles leave the bay.
• Train new employees on washing procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use.
• Prepare shift rosters, manage attendance, and handle minor disciplinary matters.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
• Monitor and report equipment breakdowns, maintenance needs, and chemical, detergent, and water usage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wash bay area.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric preferred.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Previous experience in a wash bay, fleet, transport, logistics, depot, or vehicle cleaning environment.
• Prior supervisory or team‑leader experience.
• Knowledge of truck, trailer, and equipment cleaning standards.
• Physically fit and able to work in a hands‑on operational setting.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.

• Handling of cleaning chemicals, detergents, and water usage monitoring.
• Application of health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.
