Tax Controversy & Audit Lead

About the role

The Tax Controversy & Audit Lead will be the primary point of contact for all Revenue Authority audits, queries and disputes across the region. You will ensure audit adjustments are correctly reflected in the trial balance and support continuous improvement of tax processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all regional tax audits, queries and disputes, ensuring accurate trial‑balance adjustments.
• Oversee compliance for direct and indirect taxes, working with the Tax Compliance Controller and Transfer Pricing Lead.
• Perform secondary sign‑off on tax returns prepared by external advisors and review tax reconciliations.
• Monitor legislative changes, brief the Tax Manager on risks, and support tax‑efficient structuring for new projects.
• Engage business teams across Africa and the Middle East to assess tax implications of transactions and major contracts.
• Demonstrate 100% commitment to the company’s zero‑harm safety culture.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or related field and a qualification in Taxation.
• Minimum 6 years post‑qualification experience in tax accounting, compliance and audit liaison.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities with commercial and financial awareness.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
