Tax and Compliance Accountant/Analyst

About the role

The Tax and Compliance Accountant/Analyst will ensure that KFC (Pty) Ltd meets all tax and financial reporting obligations across its South African and regional entities. Working closely with the finance team and external auditors, the role safeguards the company’s financial integrity and supports strategic tax planning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Annual Audited Financial Statements for Equity Chicken Zambia, KFC South Africa Holdings BV and PH South Africa Holdings BV in line with local legislation.
• Lead statutory audits for the above entities and close audit control deficiencies within three months.
• Ensure timely and accurate internal and external tax reporting, including quarterly tax forecasts, true‑ups and UTP disclosures.
• Handle VAT, income‑tax filings, reverse‑VAT returns and maintain month‑end reconciliations.
• Compile information for tax audits, cash‑flow forecasting and transfer‑pricing compliance.
• Obtain and submit WHT certificates from the ZRA.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for all tax and VAT matters and support the Tax & Compliance Manager.
• Participate in ad‑hoc control and audit projects to drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of South African tax laws, VAT, income‑tax and transfer‑pricing regulations.
• Excellent analytical and financial reporting skills.
• Experience working with external auditors and preparing audited financial statements.
• Ability to manage multiple statutory deadlines and deliver accurate tax forecasts.
• Proactive attitude toward creating efficiencies in tax and compliance processes.
