Structural Engineer – Data Centers

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Structural Engineer to join its Enterprise Capabilities office in Durban, supporting data‑center projects across South Africa and globally. The role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to split time between the office and remote locations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural designs and calculations for reinforced concrete and steel systems in commercial and industrial settings.
• Produce structural drawings and, when required, create Revit models.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, and clients during planning, design, and site meetings.
• Conduct ad‑hoc site inspections and manage less complex projects.
• Ensure safety, integrity, and compliance with Eurocodes, American codes, and internal engineering standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience designing concrete and steel structures.
• B.Eng. degree (M.Eng. preferred).
• Strong analytical, numerical, and commercial awareness skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
