Site Agent – Construction Projects

About the role

The client, a construction company managing warehousing, shopping centres, office blocks and high‑rise buildings, seeks an experienced Site Agent to lead on‑site operations and project management. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and control all site staff, subcontractors and suppliers for efficient project execution.
• Oversee all on‑site construction activities and overall site operations.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations and timelines.
• Implement and monitor quality‑control measures to maintain high workmanship standards.
• Monitor site safety in line with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and company standards.
• Track site costs, minimise material wastage and control unnecessary expenditure.
• Conduct and manage subcontractor meetings to coordinate progress and compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in building and construction projects, including warehousing, shopping centres, office blocks and high‑rise buildings.
• Strong knowledge of all aspects of building and construction processes.
• Ability to supervise and control site staff, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Professional fluency in English and Afrikaans.
• Post‑Matric industry qualifications or NQF‑related training (advantageous).
• SACPCMP registration and additional language fluency are advantageous.
