Senior Infrastructure Specialist

About the role

The Senior Infrastructure Specialist will lead the design, operation and modernisation of the enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security and alignment with business goals. This position provides technical leadership across data‑centres, networks, servers, storage, firewalls and backup systems.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full infrastructure estate, including data‑centres, DR environment, physical and virtual servers, storage platforms, SAN, core, access and Wi‑Fi networks, firewalls and backup/recovery systems.
• Develop and execute a data‑centre modernisation roadmap covering SAN upgrades, network refreshes, firewall replacements and enhanced DR capabilities.
• Maintain the IT Infrastructure Architecture to support business growth, security, performance and scalability.
• Implement cyber‑security controls for infrastructure, support firewall and perimeter defence initiatives, and design secure data‑centre environments.
• Manage infrastructure components of the Business Continuity Plan, ensure effective DR testing and documentation.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver infrastructure projects on time, within budget and with minimal operational impact.
• Provide technical advisory to the CIO and senior stakeholders, mentor infrastructure teams and drive knowledge transfer.
• Oversee IT asset lifecycle management and ensure compliance with regulatory, policy and safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related field.
• Senior‑level experience in enterprise IT infrastructure operations.
• Proven track record managing on‑premises data‑centres, servers, storage/SAN, network infrastructure (switches, routing, Wi‑Fi), firewalls and backup/recovery solutions.
