Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to lead the day‑to‑day financial management for our manufacturing operations in Johannesburg. The role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting cost control and procurement, and ensuring timely reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle up to the trial balance.
• Maintain accurate financial records, perform reconciliations and produce regular reports.
• Process supplier invoices, payments and statements promptly.
• Support cost‑control initiatives, stock management and procurement processes.
• Prepare documentation for annual financial reviews and compliance reporting.
• Assist with payroll administration and related reconciliations.
• Identify and implement improvements to internal financial systems and processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of bookkeeping, cost accounting or financial administration experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or Bookkeeping.
• Strong analytical, detail‑oriented and methodical approach.
• Proactive, reliable and able to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sage Evolution or a comparable ERP/accounting package.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
