Senior BA/BI Analyst

About the role

The company is a high‑growth fintech operating in South Africa and is seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Business Intelligence Analyst to turn operational data into strategic insights. You will work closely with technology, operations, credit risk and collections teams to drive data‑led decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse large operational datasets to identify trends and opportunities for process optimisation.
• Develop and maintain advanced SQL queries and data models supporting credit risk and collections reporting.
• Create interactive dashboards and visualisations using Power BI, Tableau or Qlik.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Produce regular and ad‑hoc reports that influence commercial strategy and customer outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a BI Analyst, Business Analyst or Data Analyst in fintech, financial services, credit or collections.
• Strong understanding of credit risk, collections operations and financial data analysis.
• Proven ability to work with large datasets and communicate insights to non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL.
• Power BI, Tableau or Qlik for data visualisation.
• Experience building and maintaining reporting solutions.
