Retail Business Consultant – Johannesburg Metro

About the role

The Retail Business Consultant will build passionate and lasting partnerships with Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) across the Johannesburg Metro area. You will provide product, market and sales intelligence, ensuring an easy‑to‑do‑business experience and delivering first‑class service that strengthens the consultant‑IFA relationship.

Key responsibilities

• Visit IFAs and their offices according to a defined plan to understand needs and promote Momentum’s value proposition.
• Monitor and exceed weekly activity targets to drive sales performance.
• Present professional agendas and meeting minutes, maintaining clear communication.
• Develop deep, meaningful relationships that move IFAs from non‑active supporters to active ambassadors.
• Educate IFAs on Momentum’s products, acting as their primary source of information.
• Achieve or surpass minimum production targets and required active IFA numbers.

Required profile

• 3–5 years experience in the financial services industry.
• 1–3 years relevant sales experience.
• 3‑year BCom degree in Financial Planning, Investment, Business Management, Marketing, Finance, Education or Legal, or equivalent experience with recognition of prior learning.
• Willingness to study towards the degree if not already qualified.
• CFA and/or CFP® certification is an advantage.
• Experience with Momentum Myriad and Investo products is beneficial.
• Strong business acumen with knowledge of risk assessment, claims, underwriting, tax and business assurance.
• Understanding of insurance products, regulatory and legislative frameworks.
