Quantity Surveyor – Civil Construction

About the role

ASLA Construction is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its civil construction team in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, preparing payment certificates and ensuring financial compliance throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and report on costing discrepancies across civil construction projects.
• Compile and issue monthly payment certificates to contractors and subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and support the project team with financial forecasting.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure alignment with contract terms.

Required profile

• Civil Engineering degree or National Diploma.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil construction.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written communication and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Working knowledge of CCS and Model Maker software.
• Familiarity with SANS 1200 standards.
• Understanding of Civil Engineering conditions of contract, specifically GCC and NEC.
