Quality Control Supervisor – Agriculture

About the role

The Quality Control Supervisor will oversee the quality of citrus fruit from intake through processing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and market specifications. This position is based in the Burgersfort area of Limpopo and requires a detail‑oriented professional who can lead a QC team and maintain accurate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor overall fruit quality, from intake to line and cull factors, and ensure QC reports reflect observed quality.
• Assist QC staff with pre‑operational planning, troubleshoot issues, and manage escalations.
• Maintain inventory of QC equipment and chemicals, ordering supplies to prevent testing delays.
• Ensure the QC team follows all quality, compliance, and safety procedures.
• Communicate quality concerns to the QC Manager and provide timely feedback to growers.
• Perform off‑season tasks and any other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a relevant higher qualification.
• Experience in citrus or broader agricultural environments is an advantage.
• Strong people‑management abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
• High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and strong numerical aptitude.
• Professional ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with Microsoft Tools.
