About the role
This position offers a professional nurse the opportunity to deliver age‑appropriate, high‑quality care within the Intensive Care Unit of Ascot Park Hospital. The role involves direct patient management, supervision of junior staff, and adherence to South African Nursing Council standards.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, including those on mechanical ventilation.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor nursing staff within the ICU ward.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and the South African Nursing Council scope of practice.
- Respond promptly to patient complaints and clinical needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Required profile
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Either formally ICU trained or possess demonstrable ICU experience.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including night and day shifts.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
