Production Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily operations in a busy food manufacturing facility located in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. The role focuses on achieving production targets while upholding the highest standards of quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities.
• Lead, motivate and manage production teams to meet operational goals.
• Monitor production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, quality, health and safety regulations.
• Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor product quality and resolve production issues promptly.
• Conduct staff training, coaching and performance management.
• Ensure accurate production reporting and record keeping.
• Manage staffing levels, attendance and workflow planning.
• Maintain housekeeping and GMP standards throughout the facility.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Production Supervisor.
• At least 3 years in a food production or manufacturing environment.
• Matric (Grade 12) qualification; relevant further qualification advantageous.
• Strong leadership and people management abilities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of food safety standards.
• Proficiency in quality control procedures.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
