Procurement Assistant

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Procurement Assistant to support its hospitals and corporate offices in acquiring medical equipment and supplies. The role involves managing purchase requisitions from initial quotation to final purchase order, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and timely communication with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Place orders using SAP S/4Hana and maintain accurate master data codes.
• Engage with hospital management teams and suppliers to source appropriate products.
• Stay updated on the latest medical products and technologies.
• Provide installation specifications and recommend suitable makes and models.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and budgeting requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education; tertiary qualification in procurement, finance or related field preferred.
• 1‑2 years of experience in financial, purchasing or medical procurement roles.
• Experience within a healthcare environment or exposure to medical equipment is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement systems such as SAP, Webi, iPEBS and H‑Drive.
• Understanding of purchasing processes, legal and budgetary requirements.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
