Process Support Engineer

About the role

The Process Support Engineer will drive excellence in chemical engineering and sugar process performance across raw sugar mills and the refinery. The role ensures best manufacturing practices through regular technical visits, audits and provides technical assistance to factories facing processing, recovery or quality challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mill performance improvement initiatives and support factories in achieving operational targets.
• Measure and optimise unit‑operation performance, identifying improvement areas and implementing optimisation plans.
• Provide specialist support in pre‑selected areas such as crystallisation to ensure best‑practice operation.
• Develop and implement energy‑efficiency initiatives to reduce consumption.
• Drive environmental programmes to lower liquid effluent discharge and meet air‑emission legislation.

Required profile

• BSc/BTech (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in both operations and technical support roles within the sugar or related process industry.
• Specialist knowledge of one or more unit operations, e.g., crystallisation.
• Experience in process design, including flowsheet development, mass and energy balances, and equipment design.
• Results‑focused mindset with strong communication skills.
