POS Technician

About the role

The POS Technician will manage the full lifecycle of point‑of‑sale devices, ensuring they are received, assessed, repaired, configured and dispatched efficiently. You will play a critical part in maintaining device performance, security and readiness to support seamless client transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Level 1 and Level 2 problem management, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults.
• Optimize PC performance using standard operating procedures and tune devices for optimal operation.
• Provide multimedia and end‑user support, following SOPs for system and application software.
• Execute Disaster Recovery Plans and data‑encryption tasks in line with security standards.
• Install, configure and redeploy hardware and firmware, ensuring compliance with Nedbank IT standards.
• Maintain a lean office and computer‑room environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Capture activity data for MIS reporting and vendor performance tracking.
• Support stock control and inventory accuracy for POS devices.

Required profile

• Experience in managing POS or similar payment devices throughout their lifecycle.
• Strong attention to quality, security and turnaround time standards.
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs and documentation.
• Good communication skills for end‑user engagement and policy advice.
