Patient Intake Specialist – Remote (EST Hours)

About the role

The Patient Intake Specialist is the first compassionate voice that prospective patients hear when they reach out for mental‑health and wellness treatments. Working remotely on EST hours, you will guide callers through an empathetic intake process and schedule them for consultations with our US‑based client.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls, texts and messages from individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, chronic pain or crisis.
• Conduct structured intake conversations (6‑11 minutes) to build rapport, assess needs and determine eligibility.
• Convert interest into scheduled consultations with the appropriate clinical team.
• Document patient information accurately in the clinic’s system and follow up as required.
• Maintain compliance with privacy and clinical guidelines while delivering a supportive experience.

Required profile

• Warm, empathetic communication style with the ability to handle distressed callers.
• Availability to work Monday‑Friday 00:00‑09:00 SAST (EST hours), including South African and U.S. public holidays.
• Reliable fixed‑fiber internet (minimum 25 Mbps) and a dependable power‑backup solution.
• Experience in healthcare, mental‑health, or call‑center environments is preferred.
