Nurse Educator – Higher Education & Training

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Nurse Educator to design, deliver and assess higher education and training programmes for its students and staff. The role combines classroom instruction with practical clinical facilitation to develop competent, independent healthcare practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all training complies with Higher Education & Training standards and American Heart Association (AHA) requirements.
• Design, develop and assess learning materials and interventions using instructional design principles.
• Facilitate theoretical and clinical learning sessions for nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate and administer student‑related processes, including enrolment and assessment tracking.

Required profile

• Professional Nurse qualification.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education (or a nursing specialty such as Critical Care Nursing if appointed as a specialist educator).
• Master’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional nurse or paramedic.

Required skills

• Instructional Design using the ADDIE model.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
