Mechanical Engineer – Product Development & Industrialisation

About the role

Poynting Antennas is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, integration and qualification of antenna products from concept through to production. The role combines engineering expertise with hands‑on industrialisation to improve cost efficiency and product performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and systems, creating specifications and qualification plans.
• Conduct mechanical and thermal simulations and perform fault‑finding on existing designs.
• Develop and execute test methods to qualify products against international standards.
• Provide design inputs to reduce manufacturing costs and support production with assembly instructions, test procedures and training.
• Develop production and test equipment, including tooling and manufacturing documentation for local and Chinese suppliers.
• Research new technologies, components and solutions to enhance product offerings.
• Collaborate with R&D, management and suppliers to align timescales, budgets and documentation.
• Maintain departmental processes, reporting and administrative tasks accurately and timely.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in product design, development, qualification and industrialisation.
• Ability to work across R&D, production and supplier teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
