Head of Operational Excellence – IMEA

About the role

Maersk is seeking a Head of Operational Excellence for the India, Middle East & Africa (IMEA) region. You will lead the deployment of The Maersk Way (TMW) framework across ocean operations, embedding a continuous‑improvement culture and driving performance throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the rollout of TMW frameworks, tools and behaviours in line with global priorities and timelines.
• Support regional leadership in defining, executing and measuring business priorities through structured OpEx practices and KPI governance.
• Drive adoption of core TMW tools such as problem solving, visual management, Kaizen and standard work tailored to ocean operations.
• Design and execute region‑wide deployment plans, ensuring sustainable implementation and measurable impact.
• Govern performance‑management routines, identify systemic blockers and enable capability building.
• Lead and develop the regional OpEx team, fostering a strong continuous‑improvement culture.
• Coach leaders and stakeholders on OpEx and Lean principles, performance management and cultural role‑modelling.
• Develop OpEx capability through training, coaching, best‑practice sharing and structured improvement cycles.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading operational‑excellence or continuous‑improvement initiatives in a logistics or ocean‑operations environment.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills, with the ability to build and coach high‑performing teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Track record of delivering measurable performance improvements and KPI results.
