Hardware Design Engineer – Digital Analog VHDL

About the role

The Hardware Design Engineer will develop reusable HDL library blocks, design high‑speed digital and analog hardware, and create test environments for FPGA‑based systems. The role involves full‑cycle hardware development from concept through documentation and integration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop common and reusable VHDL library building blocks following industry standards.
• Design high‑speed digital hardware using FPGA and SoC technologies (Xilinx, Microsemi, Intel/Altera).
• Create test environments with tools such as ModelSim.
• Design Mil‑Spec power supplies, low‑signal amplification, photo‑diode and laser‑diode driver circuits.
• Produce and maintain development documentation (requirements, design descriptions, test reports).
• Manage configuration and version control of hardware baselines.
• Collaborate with project management, providing progress updates and schedule feedback.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in digital or analog hardware design, documentation, and bring‑up.
• B.Eng. in Electronics (Honours/Master preferred).
• Leadership and mentoring abilities, autonomous problem‑solving, and proactive communication.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to meet deadlines, and a genuine passion for engineering.

Required skills

• VHDL coding and industry best practices.
• FPGA‑based hardware design (Xilinx, Microsemi, Intel/Altera).
• Analog and power‑supply design, including Mil‑Spec specifications.
• High‑speed serial interfaces: CAN, PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet, Aurora, A2D/D2A SerDes, DDR memory.
• Tools: Vivado, LiberoSoC, Quartus Prime, HDL Designer, ModelSim, HyperLynx, Mentor Designer, LTSpice, DOORS.
• DC‑DC converters, EMI compliance, fiber communication, and test integration.
