Handyman – Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

The Handyman is responsible for ensuring swift and consistent resolution of maintenance issues across the hotel, supporting guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role covers a variety of areas including security, pools, grounds, hotel rooms, and other facilities, requiring a hands‑on, problem‑solving approach.

Key responsibilities

• Address and resolve maintenance requests logged during shifts and received verbally.
• Perform general DIY tasks such as basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and decorating.
• Maintain and service hotel areas including security systems, pool facilities, grounds, and guest rooms.
• Collaborate with hotel staff and communicate effectively with guests regarding repairs.
• Prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Required profile

• Matric qualification (or equivalent).
• 1–2 years of handyman or maintenance experience.
• Hands‑on problem‑solving mindset and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong teamwork skills while also capable of working independently.
• Honest, trustworthy, detail‑oriented, and presentable.
• Excellent communication with staff and guests.
• Proactive, multitasking ability and good interpersonal skills.
