Ecommerce Engineer

About the role

The Ecommerce Engineer will drive all digital commerce initiatives for the group, supporting online stores, customer portals, and product catalogues. You will work closely with internal ERP, inventory, and CRM systems to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support the group’s ecommerce platforms and websites, ensuring uptime, stability, and performance.
• Develop, maintain, and optimise website features and enhancements to support commerce initiatives.
• Integrate ecommerce platforms with ERP, inventory, CRM systems, and payment gateways.
• Design and manage APIs and data integrations between systems.
• Oversee product catalogue structure, ensuring accurate descriptions, pricing, and availability.
• Monitor analytics, identify conversion‑rate improvements, and implement SEO best practices.
• Maintain cybersecurity standards, SSL certificates, authentication systems, and payment gateway integrations.
• Coordinate with hosting providers, platform vendors, and development partners, managing staging and production environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento or WooCommerce.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with modern front‑end frameworks (React, Angular or Vue) is advantageous.
• Backend development experience with Node.js, PHP or Python.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs, cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS or Azure), and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git version control and technical SEO.
