Design Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Design Mechanical Engineer to create and detail mechanical systems and components using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. The role covers the full project lifecycle from concept through manufacturing, site installation and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor and produce 2D manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Generate accurate bills of materials and support procurement activities.
• Perform or assist with mechanical calculations, equipment sizing and finite element analysis where required.
• Select pumps based on hydraulic requirements and system conditions.
• Conduct site visits for measurements, installation support and design verification.
• Liaise with workshop personnel, contractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare technical specifications, evaluate supplier quotations and maintain engineering documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes and company quality and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in 3D modelling, detailed design and production of manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to compile and manage bills of materials.
• Basic understanding of pumps, mechanical systems and equipment selection.
• Willingness to travel for site and manufacturing visits.
