Country Manager – Expat role in DRC

About the role

This senior Country Manager position leads a comprehensive logistics and mining support operation at a remote mine site in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role blends strategic boardroom leadership with hands‑on operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multi‑disciplinary teams across Finance, HSE, Clearing and Workshop functions.
• Ensure fleet and equipment availability of at least 90% through robust maintenance planning.
• Own the P&L and balance sheet, enforce group financial procedures, tax compliance and monthly reporting.
• Identify and develop new business streams such as equipment handling and clearing services, supported by financial modelling and forecasting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and boost financial performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in logistics or mining.
• Proven track record operating in the DRC or similarly remote, high‑pressure environments.
• Full professional fluency in French and English.
• Proactive, flexible leader capable of influencing stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong financial modelling and analytical abilities.
• Experience with SAP or SAGE ERP systems.
