Business Development Manager – Asset Management

About the role

Join Ashburton Investments as a Business Development Manager and help expand our retail investment franchise. You will work within the Intermediated sales function, focusing on Independent Financial Advisors and Discretionary Fund Managers, to grow assets under management and deepen client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Ashburton Investments in the intermediated market and stay current on domestic and international market trends.
• Achieve pre‑determined AUM targets while preserving existing assets.
• Participate in fund conferences, investor road shows, and other marketing initiatives.
• Maintain accurate client CRM data and manage the distribution of marketing collateral.
• Coordinate and host client engagements both online and in person.
• Interpret performance data to build tailored value propositions for clients.
• Support client onboarding and identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Ensure sales practices comply with internal and external regulatory standards.
• Contribute to overall business strategy.

Required profile

• Relevant undergraduate degree; honours, masters or CFA qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of distribution and sales experience within an asset management or financial services environment.
