Backend Developer (Go/Java) – Fintech & Payment Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Developer to join our technology team in Cape Town. The role focuses on building scalable, secure services for fintech and payment platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑performance backend services.
• Create and enhance RESTful APIs for financial and transactional platforms.
• Integrate with payment gateways, banking systems and third‑party providers.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, QA and DevOps teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Ensure system security, performance, scalability and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, testing and continuous improvement.
• Maintain clear technical documentation.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of backend development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Go or Java.
• Proven experience building RESTful APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
