Assistant Financial Accountant

About the role

As an Assistant Financial Accountant at Betway Africa you will support the finance team in maintaining strong financial controls across multiple entities. You will manage supplier relationships, ensure accurate processing of invoices and payments, and assist with month‑end and audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, review payment requests and verify compliance with authorisation requirements.
• Check invoices and expense claims for accuracy, tax compliance and supporting documentation.
• Prepare journals, accruals and pre‑payments with correct cost allocations by department, brand and region.
• Compile payment packs, manage vendor payments and follow up on rejected or delayed items.
• Create and maintain vendor master data, including agreements and banking details.
• Resolve supplier and internal queries efficiently, escalating when necessary.
• Capture and reconcile intercompany invoices, statements and settlements.
• Support month‑end close through supplier reconciliations, FX variance reviews, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Assist with audits, process testing, documentation archiving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Update asset register and handle intercompany recharge invoicing.
