Architectural Technologist

About the role

The Johannesburg office is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join the Architectural team. You will be responsible for delivering architectural design and technical documentation from concept through construction, reporting to the Lead Architect.

Key responsibilities

• Develop coordinated 3D models, 2D drawings and contract documentation in line with project requirements.
• Maintain and apply Architectural CAD standards across all deliverables.
• Prepare project‑specific and typical design details.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants and other disciplines to ensure integrated design delivery.
• Review and check drawings for quality, accuracy and compliance before issue.
• Support project delivery through meetings, technical coordination and construction documentation.
• Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and assist implementation.
• Provide technical support to site teams and respond to design and construction queries.

Required profile

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Technology or Built Environment, SACAP‑accredited.
• SACAP registration as a Professional Senior Architectural Technologist.
• 5‑10 years of experience in an architectural practice.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Strong knowledge of SANS standards and South African building regulations.
• Experience with council submissions, technical documentation and detailing.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary project environments.
