Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

We are seeking a vibrant and dynamic Accountant to join our Finance Team. The role involves managing the full spectrum of accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a complete set of accounts, from source documents to trial balance.
• Process full debtor, creditor, cashbook, and general ledger transactions.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and manage petty cash balances.
• Handle journal entries, inter‑company transactions, and monthly invoicing.
• Oversee fixed‑asset reconciliations and maintain the asset register.
• Perform morning banking, cash counts, and CIT collection documentation.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, handle SARS queries, and review monthly tax filings.
• Review age analysis for overdue payments and creditor reconciliations, providing feedback to the Finance Director.

Required profile

• Completed B.Com or B.Tech degree or equivalent accounting qualification.
• 3‑5 years of experience working as an accountant.
• Proven ability to analyse management accounts.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with SAGE and Payspace accounting software.
